CAT web editor releases 2023

Dark mode is now available as a theme in the Appearances tab of the Preferences menu.

Color of NT and MT matches can now be selected if the project settings allow displaying of MT/NT scores:

Design has been updated for: QA, Comments and LQA panes.

Icons for confirmed/unconfirmed segments and repetitions have been updated.

iOS: The Cmd+H shortcut isn't working in Safari. This has been fixed.

The upper part of the source/target quotations submenu is hidden in laptop screens using a resolution of 1536x864. This has been fixed.

The diff section of the CAT pane was not large enough. This has been fixed.

Clicking on the source/target of of an unselected suggestion in the side pane doesn't always activate that suggestion. This has been fixed.

The score/origin column on the translation table now updates if a different match is selected.

The More pane has been updated to a new design.

The side panel has a new design with the control buttons/tabs arranged vertically instead of horizontally and the panel can be minimized using a chevron.

Apostrophes are displayed as curved inverted commas and inverted commas as French inverted commas. This has been fixed.

With the Vietnamese language, some source segments are empty when they supposed to include certain Vietnamese words or characters. This has been fixed.

With non-printables turned on, navigation doesn't work correctly in certain segments. This has been fixed.

QA check list is not entirely visible unless it is zoomed out. This has been fixed.

Apostrophes and quotation marks are not being correctly displayed for Dutch and Irish languages. This has been fixed.

Some areas of the UI have been redesigned:

On laptop screens, side pane tabs were being cut off if term metadata section in the Search pane was too long. This has been fixed.

When editing tag content in the last segment of a job, Ok and Cancel buttons were hidden behind the Context note pane. This has been fixed.

In some cases, quotation in comments was not properly displayed. This has been fixed.

In some cases, the cursor inside a segment was displayed in the wrong place. This has been fixed.

Reimporting a bilingual .DOCX file was resulting in an undefined error, despite the update being successful. This has been fixed.

Filtering was not highlighting the correct text for mixed alphabet segments. This has been fixed.

The Auto-propagate repetitions settings were not working properly under some circumstances. This has been fixed.

Confirming segments with instant QA and filter enabled was not working properly. This has been fixed.

In segments longer than one line, it was impossible to correctly place the cursor or highlight words if Display hidden characters was enabled. This has been fixed.

In some cases, the formatting tag was incorrectly displayed in the In-context preview of target segments. This has been fixed.

Special characters in file names got converted to the HEX format when downloading a file. This has been fixed.

Changes in a note added to LQA issues were not stored when switching panes. This has been fixed.

Default quotation marks for Hungarian were incorrect. This has been fixed.

Scrolling in the Search pane by using keyboard shortcut was not working. This has been fixed.

URLs in brackets could not be used in the Note field for terms in the CAT pane. This has been fixed.

Arabic punctuation marks are now supported for the trailing punctuation QA check.

Preferences for panels font size were not saved correctly for the QA pane. This has been fixed.

Spellcheck highlights all occurrences of an incorrect word, incorrect or not, in a segment even if it’s part of another word and therefore correct. This has been fixed.

In some cases, when typing a space inside a Japanese job, an additional character U+309A is wrongly inserted. This has been fixed.

Clicking in a long segment causes a jump to incorrect places on the screen. This has been fixed.

Some information is missing from the in-context preview when filtering segments in joined jobs. This has been fixed.

Mac/Safari: Accented characters cannot be inserted when using a combination of keys. This has been fixed.

There are some UI color changes based on user feedback; lighter yellow for terms, darker orange for fuzzy matches, a background color for edited parts of segments.

CJK text is duplicated in target when clicking away from a segment. This has been fixed.

Some segments are displayed without a source text. This has been fixed.

New colors have been applied:

Terms from auto-complete could not be inserted when Insert Tag by Selection was used. This has been fixed.

.XLSX character limit was not being applied correctly. This has been fixed.

In some cases, comments in a job were not being shown. This has been fixed.

The Search pane and the More pane were displaying source text at the bottom, instead of the target. This has been fixed.

Context note for XLIFF files was not displaying Rich Text Format. This has been fixed.

There was a change in behaviour of the TAB key when entering a new term to a TB (Alt+T). This has been fixed.

In some cases, switching from LQA pane to Changes pane was pointing to the incorrect segment. This has been fixed.

Selecting and replacing target VI (Vietnamese) text was causing unexpected behavior when using Unikey as input method. This has been fixed.

A new checkbox option Use machine translation for segments with a translation memory match of 100% or more has been added to the Pre-translation sections of Project settings, Project template settings and Organization settings. Use is presented in resource status.

Hyperlinks in TB metadata fields were not clickable. This has been fixed.

Hovering over target segments produces and excessive mount of auto-complete suggestion pop-ups. This has been fixed.

The editor was freezing and crashing when typing Gujarati through Gujarati Typing Software. This has been fixed.

In some cases, Auto-complete suggestions were occasionally freezing. This has been fixed.

In some cases, opening jobs in Google Chrome was causing an error when the in-context preview is enabled. This has been fixed.

Mentions can now be addressed to groups. Groups are persons within a role and are based on levels within an assignment.

The ICU configurator is available in the in-context preview for checking all variants of full ICU messages based on the values entered in the configurator and translated segments.

The list of contacts in a mention is now presented as a wrap-around list - navigation from the first goes to the last (arrow up), from the last goes to the first (arrow down).

It is now possible to mention users in threads in the Comments and LQA tabs. Notifications are triggered and displayed in the in-app notification center based on mentions, replies, and LQA finishing.

A new parser for ICU messages is now available and allows representing individual variants contained in ICU messages as segments. Contextual information is displayed for each ICU message type. In-context preview of ICU messages is also supported.

If working in Firefox with right-to-left languages, the cursor was jumping out of the segment after pressing the Home key in segments where lines start with a tag. This has been fixed.
