Slack (Orchestrator)

The integration for Slack enables the setup of actions within Orchestrator workflows to publish messages in public Slack channels.

Use Cases

Check for orphan projects to trigger a Slack notification to project owners about any inactive projects.
Check for vendors' response to send a Slack alert regarding the delay in job status change.
Check for new project status to send a Slack notification to the project owner, if action is required on their side.
Check for projects that are approaching deadline to alert project owners via Slack.

To set up the integration, follow these steps:

Select Integrations from the navigation sidebar to access the Integrations page.
Click Add Integration.

The Add new integration window is displayed.
Select Slack to proceed to the Slack authorization page.
On the Slack installation page, input the workspace URL, log into Slack, and authorize the requested permissions.

Note

The app is currently being reviewed by Slack. If required, submit a request to the workspace admin to get approval for installation.

Upon successful installation, users are redirected to the Integrations page.
In the Slack application, open the channel(s) that would receive Slack notifications.
Enter /add apps to this channel and add the Phrase Orchestrator app to the channel.

Once Slack has been connected, the following options are available under the Actions column of the Integrations page:

Reconnect Integration: Allows the reconnection of the Slack account if the token has been revoked.
Delete Integration: Enables the disconnection of the Slack account. This action is useful for switching accounts or discontinuing the Slack integration.

To incorporate a Send Slack Message action into an Orchestrator workflow, follow these steps:

From the Editor tab of a workflow page, enter Slack in the Actions search field.
Select the Send Slack Message action and add it to the workflow through drag-and-drop.
Click on the action tile in the workflow and select Edit parameters from the Parameters tab on the right side.
Select a public channel from the dropdown menu to receive Slack notifications.

If a new channel has been created recently, refresh the page to update the list of channels. Make sure the Phrase Orchestrator app is added to the chosen channel to successfully receive notifications.
Define the message by incorporating text, variables, and formatting.

Click Save parameters to confirm the settings.
