AI Unit Calculation

On capacity-based plans, Phrase calculates consumption of Generative AI Capabilities in AI Units (AIUs). The table below lists the Generative AI Capabilities available via the Phrase platform and how their AIU consumption is calculated.

Auto LQA	1 word = 1 AIU	This is calculated based on the total words in the target language; or, if the target language is a character based language (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Simplified or Traditional Chinese, Thai), the total number of characters uploaded divided by two.
Auto Adapt	1 word = 1 AIU	This is calculated based on the total words in the target language; or, if the target language is a character based language (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Simplified or Traditional Chinese, Thai), the total number of characters uploaded divided by two.
MT Optimize	1 word = 0.2 AIUs	This is calculated based on the total words in the target language; or, if the target language is a character based language (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Simplified or Traditional Chinese, Thai), the total number of characters uploaded divided by two. To ensure timely processing, the recommended input limit is 5,000 words.
AI Translation Agent	1 word = 0.25 AIUs	This is calculated based on the total words in the target language; or, if the target language is a character based language (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Simplified or Traditional Chinese, Thai), the total number of characters uploaded divided by two.
AI Checks	10 words = 1 AIU Each additional AI check: 25% of the first check's cost	This is calculated from the number of unlocked (evaluated) source words, or, if the target language is character-based (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Simplified or Traditional Chinese, Thai), the total number of characters uploaded divided by two. Example The Quality profile is run on a job with 10,000 evaluated (unlocked) source words. Calculation: First check: 10,000 ÷ 10 = 1,000 AIUs Second check: 25% × 1,000 = 250 AIUs Total consumption: 1,250 AIUs.
