Import From Crowdin (Strings)

Import from Crowdin migrates projects, keys, translations, and glossaries from Crowdin into Phrase Strings in a single automated step.

Prerequisites:

  • A Crowdin account with access to the projects to migrate.

  • A Crowdin personal access token, generated in Crowdin account settings.

What Import From Crowdin Migrates

  • Projects

  • Glossaries

Phrase Strings recreates the same project structure and content. Each imported project is named [Original Project Name] (Crowdin import [date-time]), and glossaries are added to Term Bases as [Project Name]'s Glossary.

Import Projects From Crowdin

To import projects from Crowdin:

  1. In Phrase Strings, navigate to Integrations.

  2. Under Import from Crowdin, click Start import.

    The import from Crowdin setup page opens.

  3. Enter the personal access token generated in Crowdin account settings in the Crowdin API token field. Click Connect.

    Once connected, a list of Crowdin projects is displayed.

  4. Review the list of detected Crowdin projects, along with the key count and language count for each, and select those for import.

  5. Select the Import glossaries checkbox to include glossaries in the migration.

  6. Click Start import.

    Phrase Strings imports each selected project and shows a progress bar and status for each row, along with the glossary import status. A confirmation message appears when the import finishes.

  7. Click Go to Projects to view the imported projects.
