Current behavior:

When joining/splitting segments inside the Job and then Splitting the Job, the new segment count is not considered, only the original one.

Workaround:

Join/split segments after splitting the Job.

Requested behavior: 

The new segment count is used instead of the original one when splitting the Job.

Use case: 

When joining/splitting segments and then splitting the Job, the segment count is different than expected since it's only using the original one.
