Source and target segments text within all or selected non-archived projects is searchable by clicking on Search across projects at the top of the project list. The search across projects functionality is enabled only for Project managers and Administrators.
In the page, use the section to search for plain text or regex in the selected projects. Wildcard search is also supported except for quotes " ", which enables finding empty segments. Select the IS operator from the dropdown to look for content that exactly matches whole segments.
To refine the search by selecting additional criteria, expand the section at the bottom. If using advanced search options, the available fields are not filtered according to other filters already applied as search criteria; multiple filters can be combined.
Searches can only be performed within segments with states of , or and in the last workflow step of a project.
Searching continues asynchronously. It is possible to leave the page and return to check search progress or results. The search session will be maintained for 30 days.
Target text found in segments is editable: double click the text or use the pencil icon to edit the segment.
Important
-
Results are shown from the date when they were first searched so if changes are made, the results may not be from the current state of the segments.
-
There is a maximum of 500,000 job parts that a search can be run on. A single job in a project with five worklow steps would be separated into five job parts.
-
If a search session is ongoing, the page will initially present that session. Click New search to to start a new search with new criteria.
Find and replace across multiple projects enables users to efficiently update terminology and implement feedback at scale. Instead of modifying search results manually, users can now apply bulk replacements in either the source or target text across multiple projects.
