XML Profiles

Content is machine translated from English by Phrase Language AI.

A visual builder is provided for creating and saving custom XML import settings. The builder doesn't connect to connectors so all files need to be uploaded from a local drive to build the profile. If an .XML from a 3rd party connector is exported and uploaded to create an XML profile, it may be used for creating jobs.

Due to continuous improvements, the user interface may not be exactly the same as presented in the video.

Create an XML Profile

Multiple files (10) can be uploaded at a time. When saving a profile where multiple files were used, specify which file to save together with the profile.

To create an XML profile, follow these steps:

  1. From the Settings Setup_gear.png page, scroll down to the Project settings section and click on XML profiles.

    The XML profiles page opens.

  2. Click New profile.

    The New page opens.

  3. Click Upload and provide .XML, .DTD or .XSD files from a local drive.

The .XML file is rendered in and presented in the Tree view tab. From his view, the file can be searched and filtered filter_blue.jpeg.

    • Selecting the XPath tab will present the same .XML file and if experienced with Xpath, settings can be applied. Settings applied in the Xpath tab will not be presentable in the Tree view tab.

  4. Check which parts of the .XML file are required for import.

  5. If additional import settings are required, click the settings button editor_filter_settings.png to open the Import settings.

Import settings can be hidden if not required or already applied by clicking the Hide button.

    • Import XML entities

XML entities in DTD Declaration will be imported for translation.

    • Segment XML

Deselect if segmentation is not desired.

    • Import comments

Comments are not imported if elements are processed as HTML as indicated in the Elements (processed as HTML) option.

    • Convert to Phrase TMS tags

Apply regular expressions to convert specified text to tags.

    • Convert to character entities

Enter a list of character references (separated by commas) into the output file.

If quotation marks (") are required, they would be represented as ", the character Σ would be represented as Σ use ",Σ . & and < are always exported as & and < respectively.

  6. Apply any required import settings and click Save.

The Save a copy window opens.

  7. Provide a Profile name and an optional Description and click Save.

The window closes and the profile is added to the XML profiles page.
