Optimizely is a digital experience platform (DXP) that specializes in A/B testing, experimentation, and web content management. It helps businesses improve their websites, apps, and marketing campaigns by testing different versions of content, layouts, or user experiences to see which performs best.

Note

Due to continuous improvements, the user interface may not be exactly the same as presented in the video.

Use Cases

Project managers can add files directly to projects from an online repository.
Set up the submitter portal to allow Submitters to add files to requests directly from the online repository.
Use TMS automated project creation (APC) to have new projects automatically created when a change in the last modified date is detected for monitored files or a folder.

Optimizely Settings

Before creating and setting up the connector in Phrase, an Optimizely ClientId and Secret access key will be required as well as providing access rights.

In Optimizely, from the Settings menu, select API Clients.
Click Create.

A Name and Client secret are generated.
Select Set Access Rights.
Provide Phrase_TMS with Read, Create, Change, Delete and Publish rights.

Phrase TMS Settings

From the Settings page, scroll down to the Integrations section.
Click on Connectors.

The Connectors page opens.
Click New connector.

The Create connector page opens.
Change the Type to Optimizely and provide a name for the connector.
Provide the name of the host.
Provide the Client ID.
Provide the Secret access key.
Click Test connection.

A checkmark will appear if the connection was successful. A red exclamation point will appear if it wasn't. Hover over the icon to see additional details.
Click Save.

The connector is added to the list on the Connectors page.

Delete a Connector

To delete a connector:

From the Integrations page, select the connector to delete.
Click Delete.

The Delete connector window opens.
Type "delete" and click Delete.

The connector is deleted and the list of connectors is displayed.

Note

A connector cannot be deleted while it is still linked to incomplete jobs in a project, including jobs sitting in the Recycle bin. Attempting to delete such a connector returns a "Failed to delete connector" error.

Resolution: Open the project associated with the connector and complete or delete any remaining jobs. Go to Settings/Recycle bin, and empty it to remove any jobs still linked to the connector. Retry deleting the connector.
