File Import Settings

.IDML - Adobe InDesign (TMS)

Index pages for translation are placed at the end of the imported document. To have a translated index page in the completed .IDML file, open the document in Adobe InDesign and regenerate the index page.

Only embedded images are carried over to the Completed file.

  • Import hyperlink target

Hyperlink target will be imported as translatable text

  • Replace font

If individual objects within a layer are hidden or locked at the object level (via InDesign's Object Properties or the Layers panel), those objects are extracted for translation regardless of these settings. To exclude specific content from import, disable extracting invisible or locked page items.

  • Improve in-context preview with PDF

Upload a PDF or ZIP matching the IDML file to improve preview accuracy. The ZIP can contain the PDF plus matching fonts. When importing files in bulk, the IDML and PDF filenames must match. The option only appears when creating a new job. It is not available in project templates or saved file import settings.
