Translation Management

Machine Translation (Strings)

Content is machine translated from English by Phrase Language AI.

Machine translation (MT) is a productivity tool for human translators. It allows for a fast turnaround of urgently needed content with low-quality demands and is typically used in pre-translation. Google Translate, DeepL, Amazon Translate and Microsoft Translator MT engines providers are supported.

Every organization has access to one million MT characters per month.

Configuration

To configure MT for a project, follow these steps:

  1. From the Advanced tab on the Project settings window, select Enable machine translation and click Save.

MT has been enabled for the project.

  2. From the user profile dropdown menu, select Account & billing.

    The Account page opens.

  3. Select the Machine translation tab.

A table of language pairs is presented and a dropdown list of providers. Remaining characters for each provider are also presented.

    Note

Machine translation is always run on the default locale set for the project. If a different locale has been set up for a specific source language, MT will not be applied to it.

  4. Either select a default provider from the dropdown list, or select a specific provider for each language in the table.

MT will be available in the editor for specified language pairs in the selected project. MT provider logo is displayed in the key card to indicate strings that are machine translated.

Language pairs can be added or removed from the table if required.
