Current behavior:

Currently, in the file import settings for MS Word the user can choose whether to import comments, index entries, hidden text, among other options. If there are any default values in the original Word file, these get imported by default and the user cannot choose whether to import them or not. 

Requested behavior: 

Add an option in the MS Word file import settings to allow the user to choose whether to import default values or not.

Current workaround:

Lock the segments so these values don't get translated or remove the default text of the values so that it won't get imported.
