Custom fields can be added to projects and jobs beyond the standard Business Unit, Client, Domain, etc., fields. These fields can be used to apply customized metadata to projects and jobs and are visible and filterable on the project list and represented on the project page. Custom fields are visible on the Jobs page when enabled in column settings.

Limitations

Custom fields are not visible on the classic project list page.

It is not possible to delete a custom field used in a project.

It is not possible to delete the value of single-select or multi-select fields used in a project, but they can be deprecated (and later reactivated if required.

It is not possible to rename the values of single-select or multi-select fields.
-
It is not possible to change the field type if the field is already used in a project.

Custom fields are not saved to TM.
Sharing
If a buyer adds a custom field to a project or job, it is visible to vendors. Vendors are able to filter projects and jobs by custom fields set by the buyer. Vendors are not able to add their own metadata fields to shared projects or jobs.
To create a custom field, follow these steps:

From the Settings
page, scroll down to the section and click on Custom fields.
The
page opens. -
Click New.
The
page opens. -
Provide a field name and select the desired field type among options available in the Type dropdown.

If choosing Select or Multi-select type, add relevant values separated by comma in the field. Click Enter to apply the values.

Optionally, add a description for the newly created custom field.

Select where the custom field will be visible.

Select whether the custom field is required for new and existing projects by toggling

By setting a custom field as required, projects cannot be created or edited without specifying a value for that project metadata.

Click Create field.
The new custom field is added to the list.
Custom fields can be edited from the menu on the right of the field name. The option to reactive deprecated values is also presented when editing.
To assign a custom field, follow these steps:

Custom fields can be created from a project page or when creating a new project or job.

From a project page, click Edit.
The
page opens.

Click Add custom fields.
Available custom fields are listed in a dropdown.

Search for the desired custom field and select it.
Selected custom field is added to project attributes.

Assign relevant values for the selected custom field.

Optionally, repeat step 3 and step 4 to add multiple custom fields to the project.

Click Save.
The selected custom fields are associated with the project.
Note
Required custom fields are automatically assigned to new and existing projects and jobs.
