Adobe Express is a design and content creation application from Adobe. The Adobe Express connector adds a native Translate button inside Adobe Express, powered by Phrase's AI Translation Agent. Once connected, translation happens directly in Adobe Express, without opening Phrase.

If translation memories, term bases, or style guides are set up for the account in Phrase, the AI Translation Agent applies them automatically during translation.

Prerequisites

The Adobe Express connector enabled for the organization.
A Phrase account with access to Phrase Language AI.
A Phrase Platform API token.

Connect Phrase Translate in Adobe Express

To connect Phrase Translate in Adobe Express, follow these steps:

Request access to Phrase Translate for Adobe Express from your Customer Success Manager.
Once the integration is enabled for the organization, you will be provided with an Adobe Express add-on link to open the authentication screen.
Generate a Phrase Platform API token in Phrase: from the Dashboard, click the account initials (top right), then click Settings/Profile and switch to the Access tokens tab. Then click Generate token and select the Phrase Portal as the service.
Open the link and click Connect. Make sure the Translate service is set to Phrase Translate.
In the Phrase API token field, paste a Phrase Platform API token.
Under Region, select the Phrase data center that matches the account (European Union or United States).
Click Connect.

Once connected, Phrase Translate is available as a translation service in Adobe Express.

Note

Each Adobe Express user connects their own Phrase account. There is no shared or service-level connection.

Translate Content in Adobe Express

To translate content in Adobe Express, follow these steps:

Select the text elements to translate, or click Select all to translate every text element in the file.
Under Translate to, select one or more target languages.
Under Apply to, confirm the selected elements.
Under Translate service, confirm Phrase Translate is selected.
Select whether to add the translation to the current file or to a new document.
Click Translate.

Translation runs in the background. Once translation completes, the translated text replaces the original in the target file.

Click View original to compare the translation against the source text.
