COTI is an interface developed by DERCOM (Association of German Manufacturers of Authoring and Content Management Systems) for data exchange between authoring systems and translation systems.
Level 2 COTI integration is supported.
A COTI package must exist in the content management system (CMS) in order for Phrase to use it. See DERCOM documentation for more information.
The exchange folder for the exported COTI files needs to be linked to a supported connector to use the COTI project creation feature.
To set up a folder, follow these steps:

Configure the required online repository connector.

From the Settings
page, scroll down to the section.

Click on COTI project creation.
The page opens.

Click New.
The page opens.

Provide a name for the project.

Click Select remote folder.
Select the required folder from the required repository.

Click OK.
The specified folder is checked for required COTI subfolders. If none are found, a warning is displayed.

Click Save.
The project is added to the list.
Downloading COTI Archives and Project Creation
When a new COTI file is detected in the exchange folder, Phrase automatically downloads and analyzes it. If recognized as a valid COTI archive, a new project will be created.
Check in an editor to ensure that the COTI file is imported correctly.
If there is an issue in the CAT web editor, create a Project Template and adjust the import settings to address the issue. Project properties (source and target languages, for example) are defined by the COTI file. The file contains metadata that is extracted and used to set up the project.
The number of jobs in a project depend on the number of translatable files in a COTI archive. It may also contain reference files that are attached to the project which are not translated.
Translating COTI Files
Files can be translated manually or using pre-translate with a translation memory and machine translation suggestions.
Once complete, the original COTI archive is automatically rebuilt with the translated files. The archive file is a zip format with a .coti extension.
The completed COTI archive is then uploaded back to the exchange folder. The CMS detects this upload, unpacks the COTI archive, and imports the translation.
