Quality assurance (QA) is a feature built into the editor. It detects translation issues by comparing source and target segments, checking the term base, spelling, content of the tags, and other configured checks. It helps translators detect formal errors and improve overall translation quality and consistency.
If set by a project manager, QA checks may be mandatory for jobs and projects. If mandatory, QA warnings must be mitigated before the jobs can be set to Completed. QA checks are also run on locked segments unless excluded by the project manager.
QA warnings for segments with potential problems are displayed in the quality assurance pane (QA) in the editor. If Quality profiles are enabled for the project, AI check issues are also displayed in the QA pane under the tab.
QA can be performed instantly upon segment confirmation, or manually.
To sort the QA warning list, click on the column headings.
When attempting to confirm a segment, Instant QA check is run on that segment. In the case of an issue, a yellow warning triangle is displayed instead of a green check
, and the QA pane with the warnings is opened. The Linguist must mitigate all issues or set false positive warnings to in order to confirm the segment.
Instant QA can be disabled if the linguist is given permission by the Project manager. If permission is not given, the option to disable will not be available.
To enable/disable Instant QA, follow these steps:
Manual QA does not affect ability to confirm segments, but if issues are identified and cannot be ignored due to project settings, the job can not be set to Complete.
To run a manual QA, follow these steps:
Click a QA warning to highlight the segment where the problem has been detected.
Quality assurance warnings are resolved in one of two ways:

Correcting the translation and confirming it.

Clicking in the far right column, the inline or the context menu to mark the QA warning as ignored if it is a false alarm.
Multiple warnings can be grouped for ignoring by holding down Shift while selecting as a group or CTRL for individual lines. Clicking the top of the column can also be used to sort the warnings.
After mitigation, warnings are displayed in gray.
To remove ignored warning from the list:

In the web editor, deselect Show ignored issues from the filter menu

In the desktop editor, select Hide ignored.
Warning types may be set to Unignorable by Project Managers. These warnings must be corrected in the target segments before proceeding to confirmation.
Note
Words identified as misspelled during QA may be set to in the QA pane but will still be marked as spelling errors in the target segment.
If a Quality profile is applied during pre-translation, an additional tab appears in the QA pane.
The tab displays issues detected based on the AI checks defined in the applied Quality profile and the corresponding segments. Selecting an issue highlights the affected text in the translation table.
At the top of the tab, select Show AI checks to display the AI checks used for the job and a preview of their criteria. Clicking any check name in the table opens the window with the full criteria. For joined jobs, AI checks from all included job parts are combined into one list. Users with access to the job part can view the available AI check details.
If a segment is split or joined in the editor, the associated AI check issues are removed. This action is not reversible. Even if the split or join is undone, the AI check issue is not restored.
