Content is machine translated from English by Phrase Language AI.

To access options for managing security environment and data access, follow these steps:

  1. From the Settings Setup_gear.png page, scroll down to the Project settings section and click on Access and security.

The Access and security page opens.

  2. Select required options:

    • Receive webhooks and Orchestrator triggers for this project

    • Display usernames in LQA scorecard

When disabled, all names are replaced with the user id and organization name.

    • Use vendors

Allow the use of Vendors that facilitate the sharing and collaboration of files across organizations.

    • Grant access to Phrase technical support

Phrase technical support has access to your profile to help resolve technical issues.

    • Activate/Deactivate linguists automatically

Linguist profiles are automatically deactivated if there are no jobs in progress. As soon as a new job is assigned, profiles are automatically reactivated. Only deactivated linguist profiles with source and target languages matching a specific job are offered and can be assigned to that job.

    • Use secure HTTPS for Webhooks

    • Set Session timeout value

    • Email notifications

Users or vendors assigned to the project will receive notifications concerning assigned work, status changes comments or LQA mentions, newly added reference materials, and other project updates. If not selected, no notifications are sent.

Does not override Notify providers settings when creating a job.

    • Notify job owner when job status is changed

    • Notify users when mentioned in comments or LQA

    • Notify specific user groups when reference materials are added

Notifications are triggered to the selected user group only when a new reference is added manually to a project. Notifications are not sent for references added from project templates, automated imports or updates, or deletions.

A dedicated email template can be selected for this notification.

Projects with many assigned users or vendors may send notifications to a large audience.

    • Set Trusted IP addresses or ranges (Business and Enterprise editions only)

If specified, users are not able to log in from other addresses. Select Advanced to set access options based on user roles. Ranges are specified with a CIDR suffix.

      Note

      Only IPv4 addresses are supported.

    • Allow users to:

      • turn on/off auto-propagation of repetitions in CAT editor

Permits Linguists and Vendors the option of enabling or disabling the auto-propagation of repetitions feature in the editor.

      • turn on/ off instant QA in CAT editor

    • Allow linguists to:

      • download their translation jobs

Linguists (including Vendor's Linguists) may download bilingual content for translation outside of Phrase. Bilingual MXLIFF files, bilingual DOCX files, and TMX files may be downloaded for translation in the CAT desktop editor or other external editor.

This setting applies to both shared projects and jobs. If disabled, Vendor project managers or administrators can still download and manage the job.

      • download the LQA Scorecard

      • access the CAT web editor

Project managers can control in which environments Linguists (including Vendor's Linguists) may work. With this box checked, translators can click on file names and open them in the CAT web editor.

This setting applies to both shared projects and jobs. If disabled, Vendor's project managers or administrators can still open the job in the CAT editor.

      • view user metadata in CAT editor

Linguists and Vendors may see the names of others who translated identified TM matches. Deselect this option to ensure anonymity, privacy and prevent providers from seeing each other's names.

This option must be enabled for mentions to work correctly in the CAT editor.

      • only begin workflow steps if the preceding step is 'completed'

Restrict or allow translators and reviewers to work simultaneously on one job in multiple workflow steps or not until the job is set to Complete.

      • edit locked segments

Linguists are permitted to edit locked segments by clicking F2.

      • edit tag content

      • edit source

Linguists are permitted to edit source texts including the splitting and joining of segments.

If not selected, Linguists are not permitted to:

        • Edit the source language in the editor. Pressing F2, triggers the message Source edits disabled by project owner.

        • Upload bilingual MXLIFF or DOCX files with edits in the source segments including modification in the UI, API, or editor. Attempts trigger the message Source edits prohibited by project owner. Upload failed.

        • Join or split segments.

    • Allow vendors (of shared jobs) to:

      • upload references

      • change due date

    • Allow loading of:

      • external content in CAT editor

      • iframes in CAT web editor

  3. Click Save.

    Preferences are applied.
